‘I would give him death’

Raped by her father Gajjan Singh two years ago, when she was in Class V, 15-year-old Radhika (name changed) looked happy as her tormentor was held guilty of the shameless and heinous crime by a local court yesterday.

The quantum of punishment will be announced on Monday. “If I can have my way, I’ll sentence him to death,” she says adding she’s hopeful that the ‘judge sahib’ would do justice to her.

“I felt like slapping him the last time I saw him in the court. He was staring at me and wanted me to turn hostile and even signalled me to keep quiet by putting his finger on lip,” she said adding that the mere sight of him had enraged her and brought those horrific memories back.

“It went on for two years,” she said without looking up and shedding tears. Apparently, the last one year of the court proceedings had made her strong, still her voice trembled when she recounted the events.
